This 5-day intensive course will guide students through a rare opportunity to recreate a masterpiece in the academic tradition. All steps of the painting process will be explained, beginning with canvas preparation, drawing stages and subsequent painting layers to a final rendering of the image. Teaching is done through demonstrations as well as individual and group critiques.Students will choose from a variety of images ranging from the 16th to 19th century.
